Farmers are one of the most important people on the
planet earth. We’ll have no food without the farmers as they produce the food
for humans and livestock as well. Other than that, farmers are engaged in the cultivation of crops that are required to generate electricity or energy.
The farmers play an undividable role socially and economically in almost every country.
Farmers are facing different and different challenges
because of some consequences in climate change, price fluctuation, and maybe the total crop failure.
Among those consequences, climate change can be considered a major factor. The effects of climate change vary globally and in different dimensions, but now it is a problem affecting the entire world. Especially, Climate change has become a challenge for farmers globally. Mainly the crop production has threatened as it is vulnerable to changes in temperature and rainfall.
Possible effects of climate change on Agriculture
Serious effects on many biological systems.
Ecosystems are the fundamentals of our planet. Climate change will affect the habitats of several species, then they have either adapt to the change or migrate to the places favorable for them to survive. There is a significant effect on the ecosystems even if there is a small change in average temperatures.
Also, climate changes have the ability to drive ecosystems to mitigate extreme events and disturbances, such as wildfires, floods, and drought.
Decreased agricultural productivity
Climate change can change food availability by reducing food production. That can happen due to sudden droughts, changes in rainfall patterns, pest outbreaks, etc.
Serious impact on fisheries
Fishing communities and fishing villages are heavily affected by the rising sea level. Then they have to migrate inside the country or away from the sea. So they'll probably lose their jobs.
Increased prevalence of pests and diseases on plants
The variations in global temperatures can make the path to some outbreaks of pests. Further warmer temperature lowers the effectiveness of some pesticides. Meanwhile, it favours insect carriers of many disease.
