 1. Spinach 


Spinach (Spinacia oleracea) is a leafy vegetable that belongs to the Amaranthus family and originated in Persia. It is full of nutrients and anti-oxidants. Spinach normally prepared as salads and curry with daals.

2. Kang-Kung



Kang-Kung (Ipomoea aquatica ) is semi-aquatic and can be consumed as a vegetable because of its tender shoots. The origin of this plant is unknown. It is commonly referred to as " Water Spinach " in English.


3.Mukunuwenna


Mukunuwenna (Alternanthera sessilis ) is an aquatic plant *, it is used as a vegetable in South Asian countries like Sri Lanka. It is found in tropical and subtropical regions of the world.

4. Amaranthus 

Amaranthus, a traditional Mexican plant;  has 60+ species. Which also can be grown easily in plastic containers.

5.Mint/ Pepper Mint

Mint can be used to add flavour to curries and also can be taken as a herbal drink.

Preparation of soil media
